To provide legislative and policy think-tank of scholars, practitioners, participants, and politicians for the influence of local, state, and federal policy and legislation.

The voices of those most impacted by legislation and policy decisions are often not those involved in the conversation.

  1. Academic Exploration
  2. Practitioner Encouragement
  3. Participant
    Empowerment
  4. Political Spokepersons

KFGCDC is confident in our ability to bring together collective voices to establish diversity, equity, and equality in legislation and policy. The Advantage will serve as a legislative and policy think-tank. This think tank will be the catalyst for dialogue and research among diverse backgrounds and perspectives, i.e. stakeholders, practitioners and participants. The purpose of this approach is to holistically shape local, statewide, and national policies and legislation regarding the issues impacting this community.

The Stakeholders & Perspectives

Academic Exploration

Academic stakeholders bring the unique ability to research and collect
necessary data for legislative and policy change. This scholarship provides a distinct voice in the framing of legislation and policy for the community.

Practitioner Encouragement

Practitioner stakeholders bring the “boots on the ground” experience of
hands being tied by legislation and policy conceived without praxis.

Participant Empowerment

Participant stakeholders give a perspective of what it means to live with
the long-term results of legislative and policy decisions often determined by election cycle results and real community need.

Political Spokespersons

Political stakeholders are the persons who put their names and goodwill
on the line to promote our policies and legislative proposals. This group are our legislative spokespersons and political negotiators.
