The COVID-19 pandemic proved what occurs especially when communities of color lack exposure to reliable scientific information. Communities of color still have the highest percentage rate of being unvaccinated and dying at a higher rate not only from COVID-19 but cancer, HIV/AIDS and other medical issues.

There remains a history of distrust of medicine and medical practitioners within communities of color. Yet again, when medical information and care is dispersed through faith-based venues, information is often more readily received.

KFM has partnered with physicians to provide medical advice, access to resources, internships and limited health care from a physician specializing in General Medicine and another specializing in HIV/AIDS. With proper exposure to medical personnel and reliable scientific information, KFGCDC believes it can help curb some of the medical issues that so often burden the hospital systems and
community resources. https://www.who.int/
